Publishers Weekly: D&Q Defends ‘Charity & Sylvia’ from Historian’s Criticism

Vermont cartoonist laureate Tillie Walden’s graphic history Charity & Sylvia, published June 16 by Drawn & Quarterly, has drawn criticism from historian Rachel Hope Cleves, who alleges that the book is an adaptation of her own book of the same name and that the author and publisher failed to sufficiently credit and compensate her.
